About Me
MY NAME IS Steven - but I’m largely known as “Diff”
I spent my childhood living on a citrus orchard in Bundalong beside the Murray River in the countryside, with my Golden Labrador named Doubtful by my side. Growing up, I was enamored with books like Tom Sawyer and the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. After stints in Queensland, New York & London, and over a decade in Melbourne, I now call the beautiful alpine town of Bright in North East Victoria my home and frequently travel to Melbourne and other locations throughout Australia and even overseas for work assignments. Although it's a bit farther from my old stomping grounds, I still relish the thrill of exploring new places.
Filming and taking photos - it's been my life since I left school. From a beginning in audio-visual production on the Gold Coast and working on feature films for Paramount Pictures, to photographing everything from cats to cars, I've worked for advertising agencies, direct clients, and organisations. Made it on the cover of Campaign Brief a few times, and won more than 10 MADC awards, even hit it big with a Red Cross campaign globally. Outside commissioned work, I also enjoy filming and photographing personal projects in nature and making short films that maybe only a handful of people will ever see. To keep it fresh and continue to grow professionally I’ve attended several professional filmmaking courses in Sydney & Los Angeles.
If you asked me what I love most about my job, I'd say it's the excitement of seeing ideas turn into actual stories, projects, and campaigns. Plus, I get to work with some really cool and talented people from all over the world. It's a privilege to help them bring their vision to life, whether it's for their personal lives or their businesses. I love being a part of that creative process!
